Sarah+Colin • Engagement

Sarah & Colin are one of our 2019 wedding couples. When they contacted us about shooting their wedding, we couldn’t wait to do their engagement session. We explored a bit of downtown Joplin and then headed south of town to see what the countryside had in store for us. Here are just a few of our favorites from Sarah and Colin’s Engagement photo album.

Ada+Adam / / Engagement Photography Session / / Fayetteville, Arkansas

One of our favorite things are little getaways to Northwest Arkansas, especially when it involves getting to photograph a couple love-birds like Ada+Adam! So we had planned to meet these two sweethearts and shoot in the rain as the weather was calling for inclement weather all afternoon. But as soon as our 'shoot started, the sun came out and the sky cleared and there was no rain to be had. So we did what any self respecting photographers would do and faked it :) How could you not with a cool umbrella like that! We spent some time exploring the Fayetteville square and all it has to offer and this is what we came up with :) Enjoy a few of our favorite frames from Ada+Adam's Engagement 'Shoot...

Vera+Doug / / Roxy + Amelie Event Centers / / Joplin Wedding Photographer

Vera and Doug were our first November wedding this year at the Roxy and Amelie Event Center in Downtown Joplin.

Today seems like just about as good of a day as any to share one of our favorite fall weddings ever! This day just felt flawless in every way. From hair and makeup to the venue, to the ceremony and reception, it was all a dream! The moody afternoon light created by a light sort of mist that hovered over us all day gave us that magic light we're always looking for as photographers. These two put so much thought and effort into creating a fun and memorable experience for their friends and family.  Every detail from the decorations, food and drink, down to the wedding program was thought over meticulously and it showed. The ceremony took place in an intimate setting at the Roxy in front of about 150 of their closest friends and family. After the ceremony, the newlywed's guests hung out socializing, having cocktails, and striking poses in The Shutter Bus while we got our wedding portrait session on.

Vera and Doug's love story all got started on Tinder! After a few dates, they were engaged and the rest, as they say, is history! We just love that these two found each other. They are delightfully complimentary to each other, and love to laugh and have fun, which made our job as their photographers so easy! We are loving these two and the way their album is taking shape!

Check out 70 of our favorite frames from Vera and Doug's November wedding. Hope you enjoy:)

Kelsey+Craig / / Joplin Missouri Wedding Photography / / Roxy+Amelie

Kelsey and Craig got married this October 2017 in Downtown Joplin, Missouri at the Amelie Event Center.

We were on hand to capture this magical day through photo, video, & photo booth, so we definitely had our hands full, but this sweet couple made it so easy on us! Kelsey was stunning in her white wedding dress, and Craig looked absolutely dapper in his navy suit!

Craig & Kelsey met online through a dating app. Kelsey had all but written off romance when Craig came along, so Craig had to be extra persistent to steal her attention :) Craig says that seeing her in pictures he thought she was the most beautiful thing he had ever seen! They got snowed in on their first date after Craig drove over an hour to see her in person for the first time, and the rest is history!

Here are just a few of our very favorite moments from Kelsey and Craig's Wedding Day. Enjoy...

We are traveling story-teller photographer duo extraordinaire 'Tim Toms'. Based in Missouri, but traveling just about anywhere the wind (your wedding) takes us. Let's go on an adventure together, get lost in the rain, explore some back country, sink our toes in the sand....we simply can't wait to make some memories with you, and document those memories through sweet photos and video that will last a lifetime!

Jillian+Chase / / Engagement Photography

We got to hang out with Jill and Chase and their pup' out at the Sarcoxie Nursery for their engagement session! Such a cool place for a photo shoot, and what a sweet couple:) We are loving their album!

Kelsey+Laramie

Kelsey+Laramie got married  this October at the Grand Lake Baptist Assembly in Grove, Oklahoma.

The look on Laramie's face when he saw Kelsey for the first time coming down the aisle with her father was just priceless! She looked absolutely stunning in her wedding dress. The couple gathered in the huge assembly hall surrounded by their friends and family all seated at tables around them. After the wedding, we wandered the property with the sweet newlyweds exploring some covered wooded areas and various favorable lighting situations. These two absolutely rocked their portrait session and we are loving every frame. After the bride and groom's portrait session at sunset, we came back inside for the reception, which was complete with endearing speeches from the maid of honor and best man, and an insanely hilarious choreographed first dance with the bride and father of the bride. This day was magic and special in every way and we are so glad we got to be a part of it. Huge congrats to Kelsey and Laramie!

Here are  70 or so of our very favorite moments from Kelsey & Laramie's wedding day. Hope you enjoy!

Brooke+Kevin / / Amadeus Ranch / / Seneca, Missouri Wedding Photography

Brooke+Kevin got married this October at Amadeus Ranch in Seneca, Missouri.

This wedding was 'all the things' we love about capturing people on one of the happiest days of their lives and so much more.  Everything (starting with the Bride and Groom) was super relaxed, happy, and full of love as these two started on their beautiful journey together as husband and wife. It really was a pleasure to capture these two and just sort of felt like we were hanging out with old friends. We absolutely loved that they got their kiddos involved by having them be the wedding party! Just to see the amount of love they have for their parents and to watch them have so much fun as the day unfolds.

The bride and groom could not have chosen a more perfect venue! We have shot here plenty of times, but it just never gets old. We can't say enough nice things about Amadeus Ranch! From the sweeping hills, to immaculate construction, to the most favorable of indoor lighting conditions, we love it all. The personal highlight for me was Brooke and Kevin's first dance out underneath the stars and overhead lights, surrounded by their friends and family, as their happy kiddos looked on eating the s'mores they had just roasted by the fire. The sun had been down for about 30 minutes or so and gave the sky this brilliant color of blue that was simply unforgettable!

Here are just a few of our favorites from Brooke+Kevin's Amadeus Ranch Wedding! Enjoy:)

Breahna+Steven / / 425 Downtown / / Springfield, Missouri Wedding

Breahna and Steven got married this September at 425 Downtown in Springfield, Missouri.

We absolutely loved getting to hang with this sweet couple on their wedding day. They picked the perfect venue in just right around the corner from Springfield Brewing Company. Downtown Springfield is rich with history and culture (and photo backdrops), and provided the perfect setting for Breahna+Steven to tie the knot! We are so happy for the two of them, and excited to share a few frames from their wedding album.

Here are just a few of our favorites from Breahna and Steven's Springfield Wedding:) Enjoy!

Sarah+Jory / / Engagement / / Springfield, Missouri

We met the sweetest couple, Sarah and Jory in Downtown Springfield for a few shots at an old grain silo, and then headed out to Highlandville for sunset at the farm of a family friend. After a few pics with the family pups, we went off in search of wildflowers and a gorgeous sunset. We found both....and horses :) We were calling it a midwest Safari! There were beautiful horses everywhere, and it was awesome! Here are just a few of our favorites from Sarah and Jory's engagement session....Enjoy!

Mallory+Zach / / Joplin Wedding / / Photographer

Mallory and Zach got married this September at The Journey Church in Joplin, Missouri. Their reception soon followed at the Ramsey Event Center.

This wedding was a literal dream! It was such a pleasure getting to meet and work with these two awesome humans and bear witness to their amazing love on their wedding day! Mallory and Zach met here in Joplin a few years ago doing humanitarian work building houses in the aftermath of the tornado. Her from Cleveland, Ohio and he from Savannah, Georgia, they began dating and soon she had moved to Georgia to be with him. Not long after, he asked her to marry him, and the rest, as they say, is history:)  Here are just a few of our favorites from Mallory and Zach's Wedding Day!

Kaylee+Cole / / Wedding / / Joplin

Kaylee and Cole got married at the Methodist Church in Joplin, Missouri. This wedding just couldn't have been any better! I arrived at the church to get a few shots of Kaylee getting her makeup done, snagged a few shots of the dress, shoes, details and such :) Then we went on a little church tour, exploring the grounds for a few photo sessions in different places. I just love the backdrop that a big stone building provides, and the sanctuary with that giant organ :) After the ceremony, we headed downtown with the father of the bride's classic Mercedes for a portrait session with the Bride and Groom. We explored the city streets and a back alley and these two were pros in their first photo sesh' as husband and wife!  Once we hit the Elks Lodge for the reception, Kaylee and her Mom, Dad, and Brother knew just how to get the party started! They headed straight for the dance floor and started belting out Journey's 'Don't Stop Believing' ! It was amazing. I think this crew definitely knows how to have a little fun! A few heart felt speeches, some feverish dancing, and one big fireworks show later, and this wedding went down as one for the ages!

Here are just a few of my favorites from Kaylee and Coles Wedding Day! Enjoy...

Jenny+Brock / / Creekwood Gardens / / Wedding

Jenny+Brock got married this June at Creekwood Gardens in Rogers, Arkansas. When I arrived at the venue which I had not photographed prior, I was in backdrop overload. So many beautiful spots to capture the love of these two on their wedding day. Little did I know it was about to start raining for the better part of the day! BUT, we made the best of it, grabbed our umbrellas and headed outdoors. Jenny & Brock were game for anything. What could have been a sticky situation turned out to be a blessing as the rain added an element to the photos that I just love about Jenny and Brock's portfolio.

I met these two last year when we got together for their engagement session. We got to know each other a  bit while exploring some countryside and doing some fun crossfit pics. One thing that you notice immediately when you meet this happy couple is that they are deeply and madly  in love with each other! Their love makes them so easy to photograph and one of my favorite couples ever.

Jenny was absolutely stunning in her dress. I've gotten so many comments on the few photos I've shared already about how beautiful her dress is :) Brock was a dashing groom rocking the grey suit look with brown dress shoes.  This couple and their wedding album are magazine worthy in every way! This wedding was one for the books!

Here are just a few of my favorites from Jenny+Brock's early summer wedding! Enjoy...

Tim Toms is  a wedding and portrait photographer based in Joplin, Missouri. We launched our little company back in 2012 amid little fanfare and even less studio space. We have since blossomed into full fledged fanfare and a slightly larger studio space. Over 5 years and more than 100 weddings later, we are loving life and our clients! We eat, sleep, and breathe wedding photography. It's our bread and butter, and we can't wait to photograph your wedding. While SW Missouri is our home, we travel almost anywhere but some of our most popular areas are Northwest Arkansas, Kansas City, Tulsa, St. Louis and Dallas.

Amy+Jordan / / Amelie / / Roxy / / Wedding

The Amelie Event Center & Roxy in Downtown Joplin set the stage for this early summer wedding! Amy and Jordan were the perfect wedding to get June started off right! I just love weddings in an urban setting, and this event space and surrounding area is such a 'backdrop rich' environment.

I could tell pretty early on in the day with the popping of champagne corks and such a fun natured bridal party that this day was going to be one for the books. We explored the event space and Downtown Joplin for our bridal party portraits. As guests started arriving, they were all served cocktails pre-wedding:) Genius! I love this idea! Everyone should do this! Amy & Jordan tied the knot with their kiddos at their side and surrounded by friends and family.

Here are a few of my favorite images from Amy + Jordan's Downtown Wedding. Enjoy:)

Beth+Matt / / Kansas Wedding

Beth & Matt became Mr. & Mrs. Winter on April 1st, 2017. The happy couple got married in Neodesha, Kansas at the Grace Baptist Church. The reception followed in Independence, Kansas at the Historic Booth Hotel.

It's always such an honor getting to be in the midst of true love on a wedding day. Going back through these images one by one, it's difficult deciding which ones to share. Just so much goodness in one album! Capturing these wedding day memories that will last a lifetime or longer for sweet couples like Beth + Matt is my dream job. Sometimes I have to pinch myself that I actually get to do this for a living:)

Here are just a few of my favorites from Beth + Matt's spring time Kansas Wedding! Enjoy!

Wedding Shoes in Window
The Smiths / / Amadeus Ranch / / Wedding / / Seneca, Missouri

There is nothing better than a Spring wedding! Especially after a long winter off season and its 70 degrees outside. We talked about the weather quite often at this wedding:) Getting married in the spring, you just never know what you're going to get. As Southwest Missouri spring weddings go, this one was an absolute dream. No one had to wear a coat in March, and rain wasn't even a thought, and those are some BIG WINS!

Miranda and Kaleb are a pretty special couple and their wedding was just perfect. Honestly it wouldn't have mattered a bit if the weather was bad! This couple was so happy and in love and absolutely radiant, that I don't think there was anything putting a damper on their day. It's always such a treat to get to meet such wonderful people and document their perfect wedding day in a way that they can hopefully relive again and again.

We have shot at Amadeus Ranch quite a few times now and it just never disappoints. Beautiful natural light coming in on both ends of the venue provides some awesome opportunity for indoor photo spots, and the venue overlooks a gorgeous valley with picturesque sunsets! Not to mention, this might be the best venue around for quickly converting an outdoor wedding to indoor if the weather does take a turn for the worse.

Below are just a few of our favorites from Miranda and Kaleb's wedding day! Enjoy:)

Flea Market Find Vintage Cameras

One of my favorite things to do is shop the local flea markets for sweet vintage collectables. There are lots of cool things I'm always looking for, but one of the main ones is vintage cameras. Some are just for decoration and some go straight into my lineup for general use.  I haven't been collecting long, so my collection is still pretty small. I thought it would be cool to share some of my flea market finds with y'all so I took to the book shelves of the study in my home for a photoshoot of inanimate objects. Hope you enjoy!

CANON AE-1 - $150

This is my most recently acquired treasure. I've been on the hunt for one of these beauties for a little while now. Haven't had much of chance to put it to good use, but definitely looking forward to having some fun with this one. The Canon AE-1 is a 35 mm SLR, first introduced in 1976 and remained in production until 1984, which when you think about it is a really long time for a single model to be produced. I feel like that says a lot about the quality and popularity of this classic camera. This camera was the first SLR to come equipped with a microprocessor and during it's years in production, sold over a million units.

SUPER 8 MOVIE CAMERA

Every serious collector has to have one of these gems in their collection. The iconic Super 8 Movie Camera was first manufactured by Kodak in 1965 and remains one of the most popular shelf sitters in a ll the land. The one I found still had its original Sears Instruction Manual and fancy leather carrying case. It's popularity and production continued into the 1970's when more modern versions of video cameras started to come along.

POLAROID SX-70 - $125

This camera might be my absolute favorite. It is an incredible feat of engineering, being fully collapsible which makes for easy transport and most people don't even know what they're looking at when it is collapsed form. It then transforms into a camera that dispenses it's prints in real-time:) Polaroid phased out it's film production in late 2005 rendering many of their products virtually useless. That is until The Impossible Project came along and reinvigorated Polaroids cult following with new film for it's products. This camera was in production from 1972 - 1980.

BELL & HOWELL 16 MM MAGAZINE CAMERA - $35.00

This camera is a mid-century shelf sitter (non-working) first released in the 1950's. It  has an all metal body with a leatherette wrapping. This would have been used for shooting video and did not take batteries, but uses a windup spring motor mechanism instead.

POLAROID A80 Land Camera - $60

This camera was a gift from my mom so it is extra special and adds value for sure! It is still a fairly new member of the collection and a ton of information isn't readily available online so I can only assume they only made 1 and it is the holy grail of cameras, worth over 2 million dollars. Full disclosure, I'm operating on zero factual knowledge. Just a hunch:)

YASHICA A - $55

The Yashica A Medium Format Camera was first introduced in 1959. Shutter speed and aperture are controlled with fancy dials and levers on the sides of the camera. This is about as simple as cameras get. Simple is good:)

Yashica A Medium Format Camera

KODAK BROWNIE STARLET CAMERA - $20

The 'Brownie' was a simple plastic point and shoot camera first introduced by Kodak in 1956. This is the smallest camera in my collection. It is just a cute little 127 format camera. These usually aren't too expensive, so if you run across one, grab it!

KODAK INSTAMATIC 104 - $20

This camera is one of Kodak's greatest success stories for the 126 film cartridge. Kodak alone sold 60 million of it's instamatic models. Most of those sales came in the 1960's and 70's

Jaycee+Blake / / Wedding / / Miami, Oklahoma

Jaycee and Blake's Wedding was on New Year's Eve at the First Christian Church in Oklahoma. I couldn't think of a more perfect way to ring in the new year than with a beautiful wedding with a sweet couple like Jaycee and Blake. It was so good to see how many people came to see these two tie the knot on the last day of the year.

Blake is a United States Marine stationed in California, so finding some time off for a wedding didn't come easy. Soon he will begin his deployment away from his beautiful bride so these two are enjoying every second together, so happy and in love, as you can undoubtedly see from their wedding album:)

Blake saw his Bride for the first time as the church doors opened, and she began to come down the aisle with her father.

Here are just a few of my favorites from Jaycee and Blake's Wedding Day :) Enjoy!

Paige+Aaron / / Wedding / / Rustic Oaks / / Miami, Oklahoma

Paige and Aaron got married this fall at Rustic Oaks in Miami, Oklahoma. This was our first time experiencing Rustic Oaks and it quickly became an instant favorite for us! It doesn't take long upon arrival to see the time, effort, and attention to detail that goes into making this the perfect spot for a beautiful wedding. Perfectly groomed walkways, fences, bridges, and overhangs all centered around the big barn where the happy couple would say ''I do" in the evening.

I was so happy to be back with this couple after their engagement session in the spring. Paige and Aaron's day was filled with close friends and family who came in to make their wedding day special and one to remember.  This day was perfect and I'm so happy we were there to capture it all for them in photographs. Here are just a few of our favorites from Paige + Aaron's Wedding. Enjoy :)
