One year from today these two will be getting married :) What better way to celebrate than by dropping their engagement album. I met Brooke and Trent on a rooftop in downtown Kansas City to kick off their engagement session. I just love every single one of these frames with the city as a backdrop. Give me all the urban vibes for an engagement session. From there we tried out one more spot downtown where the trees grow over the road, and then headed into the Crossroads district to cap things off. I met Jessica and Cory at Jessica’s parent’s land, where they’ll be getting married in a few short months, just outside of Joplin for their engagement session. We captured a some different scenes in a field over by the hospital and beautiful little creek bed down at Wildcat Glades. This couple was super fun and so easy to work with, and I can’t wait for their wedding day.
Courtney and Tyler invited us out to their family farm in Walker, Missouri for their engagement shoot! We explored some beautiful countryside and this is what we came up with :) Can't wait for their wedding next spring at the Silver Spoon Barn. I wish all the photoshoots could end in a sweet proposal like this one. I met Randi and Dylan in California a few short weeks ago while photographing Austin + Matt's wedding. Dylan pulled me aside during the wedding reception and asked about possibly photographing his proposal in the coming weeks. We talked a little bit about their relationship and how long they had been together. Dylan told me he's had the ring for a while but just hadn't found the right time to propose. So when we got back to Joplin, we got together to scout a location for a quick photoshoot with the plan being for him to propose at the end. I just love the look on Randi's face at the end. One of our favorite things are little getaways to Northwest Arkansas, especially when it involves getting to photograph a couple love-birds like Ada+Adam! So we had planned to meet these two sweethearts and shoot in the rain as the weather was calling for inclement weather all afternoon. But as soon as our 'shoot started, the sun came out and the sky cleared and there was no rain to be had. So we did what any self respecting photographers would do and faked it :) How could you not with a cool umbrella like that! Can all the engagement sessions start at the coffee shop and end at the bar? I mean seriously! I met my new friends Ashley and Joe at Eurasia Coffee & Tea Shop on Commercial Street in Springfield. We started with some indoor work, capitalizing on some of the sweet natural light beaming through the windows at Eurasia. It was a little chili, but we headed out to explore all the color and textures of Commercial Street, and finished up at Lindberg's Tavern for some beers and conversation. It was the perfect ending to an awesome engagement shoot! I love the way these two look at each other. Can't wait for the wedding. Engagement season is upon us and we are in love with this session. You can see how much Kayla & Jon love each other in every single frame. So much goodness! I met up with these two on the square in Lamar, Missouri. We shot for a while downtown, capturing some old buildings and weathered vines, and some of the history from the square, and then we headed to a nearby open field for sunset. We explored the woods of southwest Missouri with Travis and Kasey for their fall engagement photoshoot! Travis is an old college buddy of mine so it was quite a treat getting to see and catch up with him after all these years, and of course meet his lovely fiancé Kasey, who I called Kelsey a few times on account of all our recent brides named Kelsey...but that's neither here nor there:)

We met the sweetest couple, Sarah and Jory in Downtown Springfield for a few shots at an old grain silo, and then headed out to Highlandville for sunset at the farm of a family friend. After a few pics with the family pups, we went off in search of wildflowers and a gorgeous sunset. We found both....and horses :) We were calling it a midwest Safari!
