WE LOVE OUR BRIDES! The bride embodies the spirit and essence of the entire wedding tradition. On your wedding day, we will take bridal portraits, but many of our brides are now opting to do a full bridal portrait shoot. We usually do these shoots a few weeks before the wedding. Unlike the hustle and bustle of your wedding day, full of time constraints among other things, this will be our time to focus on you and only you, and all the beautiful details of you and your dress. Here are ‘Five Good Reasons for a Bridal Session’!

  1. Trial Run - For brides, there are many pieces of the puzzle to put together. You have the hair, makeup, accessories, dress, shoes, and the list goes on. Why wait until your wedding day to see how it all fits together. Scheduling a bridal shoot with your photographer gives you the opportunity to see exactly how everything will be on your wedding day and provides you the opportunity to make any desired changes before the big day.

2. Get Comfortable - Having a bridal shoot before your wedding allows you and the photographer to establish a working relationship. Your photographer will learn your likes and dislikes, dos and don’ts as far as posing is concerned to get the best quality pictures. You will get a relaxed setting without all the pageantry of your wedding day to explore how to become comfortable in front of the camera. Now that you’ve gotten to know each other, this will allow you to really maximize the time available on your wedding day without adding unnecessary stress to your day.

3. Location, Location, Location - You don’t have to have your bridal session where your wedding is going to be. This will allow you to get some completely different looks than you will get on your wedding day. You’ll get hundreds of pictures of you at your wedding venue, so why not take the opportunity to explore some place different? Your dress was a big investment and you should have pictures that showcase you and it in a variety of locations.

4. Explore Your Creative Side - Gone are the days of sitting in front of a colored backdrop with your hand under your chin. Bridal portrait shoots are your time to shine. Try not to limit yourself to just posing with your bouquet and dress. Definitely incorporate cool locations or vintage props, antique cars, large accessory pieces or even your friendly pets. Your photographer or wedding planner will be able to help you style a shoot that reflects your styles and interests.

5. Bridal Portraits at the Wedding - Many brides are opting to have a bridal portrait displayed of them at their wedding reception. If you are wanting that, a bridal portrait session is necessary to do so. This will give you tangible pictures to have on your wedding day that you wouldn’t have otherwise. A framed bridal portrait or canvas makes a fantastic gift for parents and grandparents on your wedding day.
