Tyler+Kelly | Marriage Proposal in the Park | Kansas City

My new friend Tyler recently messaged me about putting a plan together to propose to his girlfriend Kelley while they were visiting Kansas City. We worked out a date where I could squeeze in a proposal on a Saturday before a wedding, and we decided to do it at Loose Park just off the Plaza in Kansas City. Our plan was to have the proposal done on the south bridge by the duck ponds, and as I arrived I really had to be careful not to blow my cover with Kelley. I kept my distance and took pictures of ducks, waiting for my cue and watching them out of the corner of my eye. It was a delicate balance to strike but it worked out absolutely perfectly. Enjoy these few frames from Tyler and Kelley’s Kansas City Marriage Proposal.

Lisa+Trae | Kansas City Wedding

Lisa and Trae got married at the Emerald Event Center in Blue Springs, Missouri. It was an intimate ceremony surrounded by a few of their closest family and friends. Here are a few of our favorites from their wedding day. Enjoy!

Amanda+Aaron | Kansas City Wedding

Amanda and Aaron got married on June 7, 2024 in an intimate ceremony in downtown Kansas City at Hotel Phillips. I love a downtown/urban wedding so much and this one was the stuff dreams are made of. Fantastic weather, great scenery, awesome bride and bridal party….we had it all! Amanda and Aaron first met in the lobby at the President Hotel so it was important to them that we also incorporate some of those aesthetics in and around the historic spot where they first laid eyes on each other. We did their getting ready portraits at the President as well as some of their bridal party pictures out in front of the hotel and inside the lobby.

Brooke+Trent | Kansas City Wedding

Brooke and Trent tied the knot yesterday at The Maverick in downtown Kansas City. It was an absolute pleasure getting to work with them and their families for their wedding day. There’s a lot of different variables that go into what makes a wedding day great from a photographer’s standpoint, and this day had them all. I’m talking the best bride and groom and bridal party you could ask for, an absolutely stunning and versatile wedding venue like The Maverick, party bus rides, the most extravagant wedding cake I’ve ever seen, delicious food plus a late night snack, complimentary flip flops for dancing, an epic sendoff and soooo much more. More photos coming soon, but…

Here are just a few early favorites from Brooke and Trents Kansas City Wedding.

Laura+Blake | Missouri Wedding

Laura and Blake got married on at St. Peter’s Catholic Church in Joplin. They are just the sweetest couple imaginable and it was an absolutely joy to photograph them and their wedding party, friends, and family. These sweethearts met while attending The University of Kansas pharmacy school. When Covid hit, instead of returning home to Washington state, where she’s from, Laura decided to move in with Blake and his family in Scammon, Kansas. The rest as they say, is history. The thing I love most about this couple is how they look at each other, and interact with each other. How much Laura is always smiling when she’s around Blake. At the end of a long day of picture taking, Blake says to Laura, “here, let me take a mental picture”, as he holds up an invisible camera and creates a snapshot for just him to remember the moment and the best day. It’s days like this that remind me why I do what I do. Here’s a couple hundred of our early favorites from Laura and Blake’s wedding day:)

Kendall+Brody | Wedding

Kendall & Brody got married in Ft. Scott, Kansas in an intimate ceremony surrounded by their closest friends and family. We explored the downtown brick streets for portraits of the bridal party and they did not disappoint. Ft. Scott has a very rich history and it’s downtown provides a very unique backdrop for bridal party pictures. Crooner’s was our location for ceremony and reception, and they were absolutely perfect from start to finish. I’ve done almost 500 weddings and tbh, most of the time the food is just kinda ok (don’t kill me in the comments), but the spread that Crooners laid out was immaculate. Definitely a top 3 wedding food all time for me!! I can’t wait to go back there. Kendall and Brody were amazing to work with, but the real star of the show was their girl Swayze. Swayze was absolutely in her element all day long. She danced the night away and we’ve got the pictures to prove it. In the made of honor speech given by the brides sister, we learned that Swayze is going to be a big sister, and we even got a gender reveal when they cut the cake. It’s a girl!! Congratulations Kendall and Brody!!! Here’s a couple hundred of our favorite’s so far from their wedding day!

Adyson+Drew | Kansas Wedding

I say this a lot, but this day was truly perfect. Everything about it from start to finish was what wedding dreams are made of. We had the most lovely, laid back, beautiful couple in Ady and Drew, with the most fun bridal party who was up for all of our photo shenanigans (and continuously ‘iced’ each other throughout the day), and the most beautiful outdoor ceremony and reception out on Adyson’s parents’ land. As a wedding photographer, this is seriously the 10/10, all I ever hope for in a wedding….awesome people, good energy, beautiful scenery, and optimal lighting conditions. It was an honor and a pleasure to document this entire wedding day for Ady and Drew. Here’s a few of our favorite’s from their wedding. Enjoy…

Family Photos | Lake Winnebago, KCMO

I know I keep saying this, and I can’t really say it enough I guess. Bring me your large family groups. I love this kind of photoshoot. Bring the kids, bring the cousins, bring the dogs, bring the props, bring the grandparents, bring it all. This group had 26 total. Sixteen kids and ten adults and in an hour and a half we got individuals of every kiddo, individual group family photos, couple portraits, and large family group pictures. It’s so important to keep the walls and halls of your homes updated with the photographs that represent your family’s love. From this session, there were a little over 400 ‘keepers’ that will be returned to this family in their album. Here’s a few of our favorite images from this large family group…Book your large family group today!!

Mariah+Richard | KC Wedding

We got to photograph the absolute sweetest couple for their wedding at the Mallinson Vineyard and Winery in Kansas City. Surrounded by a group of their closest friends and family, Mariah and Richard said their vows under an old tree overlooking the vineyard. We couldn’t have picked a better place to have this wedding. The Vineyard has so many options for great portraits, including two separate ceremony sites, so much beautiful foliage, both indoor and outdoor options, and on site overnight rental options. Oh, and do yourself a favor and get yourself a wine slushy:) Yumm. Here’s a few of our favorites from Mariah and Richard’s wedding day. Enjoy!

Brooke+Trent | KC Engagement

One year from today these two will be getting married :) What better way to celebrate than by dropping their engagement album. I met Brooke and Trent on a rooftop in downtown Kansas City to kick off their engagement session. I just love every single one of these frames with the city as a backdrop. Give me all the urban vibes for an engagement session. From there we tried out one more spot downtown where the trees grow over the road, and then headed into the Crossroads district to cap things off. Here’s some of our favorite’s from Brooke and Trent’s Downtown Engagement.

Jessica+Cory | Engagement Photography

I met Jessica and Cory at Jessica’s parent’s land, where they’ll be getting married in a few short months, just outside of Joplin for their engagement session. We captured a some different scenes in a field over by the hospital and beautiful little creek bed down at Wildcat Glades. This couple was super fun and so easy to work with, and I can’t wait for their wedding day.

Emily+Austin | Missouri Wedding

Truth be told, I wish a lot more weddings were like Emily and Austin’s. Outdoor ceremony out in a beautiful Missouri field by the creek, a couple of tents and some string lights and all your closest friends and family. It seriously makes the best wedding photo albums. I started off at a nearby church with Emily and the girls getting ready. There I began with the details as I always do. Emily had all of the perfect little touches to add to her detail collection. The bride read a little letter that Austin had sent to her and from there it was time to get dressed, do a quick first look with the father of the bride and head over to our ceremony location for portraits of the bridesmaids and groomsmen separately. After portraits, everyone watched as Emily and Austin said their vows under an old tree, sun shining down, perfect weather, all of the stuff your wedding dreams are made of. Afterwards, we did some more bridal party portraits and family photos and then the couple danced the night away under the outdoor lights with their friends and family. We capped the night off with some shotgunned beers and a few games of flip cup. What a perfect day :) Here’s a few of my personal favorites from Emily and Austin’s Missouri Wedding. Enjoy!
