I’ve been photographing Ridley since he was just a few months old, as well as his mom and dad Taylor and Ross. We always have so much fun on these shoots because Ridley is such a fun loving boy. We run and play and throw rocks, and Ridley loves to tackle his dad :) But this photo shoot was extra special because he got to make the best announcement, Ridley is going to be a BIG BROTHER! Congratulations Taylor and Ross!
I met my new friends The Bakers out in Webb City to document their family portraits and capture the announcement of their new addition! Hey Everyone, Leo is going to be a ‘BIG BRO’!
I met my new friends Brittany and Austin in Pittsburg, Kansas for their engagement session. We took a little stroll around the block near downtown Pittsburg for a few urban shots and finished up in a field just east of town. We are loving these frames and this sweet couple:) Enjoy
January and February are the months out of the year that I really look forward to. Wedding season grinds to a halt and I can slow down and plan the next year out. Winter is also the perfect time for these in home lifestyle sessions that I love so much. It’s a nice change of pace from the weddings we’re shooting all year, where we can get indoors, open the blinds and capture all the loving goodness.

I didn’t blog at all last year! Lindsey and Eli are the perfect couple and they had the most amazing engagement session, so now is as good a time as any to get back into the blog world. We went to Whitaker Point in Northwest Arkansas for their engagement session and made the mile and half hike out to the Hawksbill Crag for sunset. I am loving every single frame from this shoot. Olivia and Matt got married at The Hudson in Wichita, Kansas. This wedding was our last one of the year, and we can’t think of a more perfect couple to end a busy wedding season on. Give me all the winter brides & winter weddings. We are absolutely in love with these newlyweds and their wedding photos. Although it was a tad bit on the cold side, these love birds and their wedding party were up for all my crazy ideas trekking through the brick laid streets around The Hudson. This venue and the area surrounding was a ‘photo-opportunity-rich’ environment. Seriously this is one of our favorite places to shoot and we can’t wait to come back. Ashley pulled off the perfect prank on Josh when it was time for him to see her for the first time.
The groom, Josh busted into laughter when he was expecting to see his soon to be bride Ashley and turned to see one of his groomsmen standing beside him in a white wedding gown. Typically, we have the groom face away until the bride arrives and taps him on the shoulder, which is exactly how Josh thought everything was going down. Instead he got the shock of his lifetime when he turned to see his groomsmen that he had been looking for the better part of the last hour. When Ashley asked if we would be up for a prank like this, our answer was a resounding ‘YES’. Although we new the prank would be taking place, we did not know that Josh (groomsmen) was going to be so dang funny doing it. He hammed it up all the way down the walkway, strutting his stuff and blowing kisses at the groom, and showing a little leg at one point. Luckily our faces were hidden by cameras to conceal us laughing under our breath. We are so happy Ashley chose us to capture this priceless wedding day moment! See how it all unfolded below.

Ada and Adam got married on Mulberry Mountain in Northwest Arkansas. I can’t think of a more perfect setting than the mountains of Northwest Arkansas for this sweet couple to get married. An intimate ceremony overlooking the valleys below, full of all the fall colors, with one of our very favorite couples just sets our hearts on fire. You can really see the time and effort put into the details of this wedding. Absolutely everything was done with a thoughtful touch from the golden dinosaurs to the bride’s stunning bouquet. Ada’s wedding dress is one of the absolute coolest dresses we have ever seen, with beautiful blues, greens, orange & red flowing up from the bottom, and the look on Adam’s face when he sees her for the first time, coming down the aisle, being led by one of their beloved pups, is absolutely priceless. These two are a perfect fit for each other, and you can see it in the love and emotion they shared on this day. It really comes through in their portraits.

Ashley and Joe got married at the Affinity Riverside Estate in Nixa, Missouri. This wedding was perfect in every way and we have been anxiously awaiting getting to edit and share these pictures for our friends Ashley + Joe.
Let’s start with the venue. We have only had the pleasure of capturing weddings at The Affinity Riverside Estate twice, but we can’t wait for the chance to go back. There is a waterfall running through the middle of the property that leads back to one of the most fabulous outdoor wedding spots we ever laid eyes on. Beautifully constructed wooden benches nestled perfectly in the surrounding forest. Directly behind is 3 stories of decking (including an outdoor dance floor) that overlooks the ceremony area, providing the perfect perch to watch the ceremony, take in the air, or get your dance on! Seriously, this is as good a place as any to say ‘i do’.
Now let’s get to Ashley and Joe. I got to meet these sweethearts when we did their engagement shoot a while back down on commercial street in Springfield. There was coffee, there was beer. Enough said! Within minutes I could tell that this couple was truly in love and couldn’t wait to get married, and I was over the moon that they had chosen me to be the one to capture that love. Getting to watch them get married and join their families together, seeing the love for each other and their sweet kiddos was honestly perfect. And just wait until you hear their vows. Not a dry eye in the house.

Sarah and Jory got married at the Hazeltine Estate in Springfield, Missouri. This wedding was basically a favorites list. One of our favorite couples ever at one of our favorite venues during our favorite time of year. The list goes on! The Hazeltine Estate is a photographer’s playground. There is so much to see and do there, from the lush greenery all around the property, spacious and well thought out bride & groom suites, endless options for ceremonies, a chandelier hanging from a tree, a sweet rope swing. OH, and a pool! Sarah & Jory’s wedding was one for the ages and one that won’t soon be forgotten.
We had the pleasure of meeting and getting to know Sarah & Jory a little bit back months ago during their engagement session. We knew then that they were so nice and fun to be around that we were going to love their wedding day! Our day started out getting ready with the bride and groom in their separate areas, where we got all of the getting ready and detail shots. Sarah in the bridal loft over the barn and Jory in the basement bar area across the property. After we caught our breath from seeing Sarah in her dress for the first time, it was time for Jory to do the same. The couple met for the first time on their wedding day down a long walk way underneath the trees. The look on Jory’s face was priceless when he turned and saw Sarah for the first time. After a long emotional hug and a few words, it was time for portraits. The bridesmaids stunned in their sage bridesmaid dresses, while the groomsmen looked dapper in grey pants, white shirts, and leather bow ties with matching suspenders and shoes. After exploring all the property had to offer for bridal party portraits, it was time for a quick ceremony, and then on to the reception. The wedding reception took place underneath a tent on the property, where the newlyweds along with friends and family danced the night away. Blacksheep was on hand serving up burgers and fries throughout the night which kept all of the wedding guests happy. About midway through the night, we were all treated to a huge fireworks show put together by Sarah’s dad. We had so much fun with these two on their wedding day and are so excited to share a few of our favorite images. Enjoy!

When our good friend Brent told us that he was going to be proposing to his girlfriend Lauren, we were absolutely ecstatic that we get to be on hand to help them celebrate and to capture all the magic through these beautiful photos. Brent put this romantic plan together to propose on his family's lake house dock at Table Rock Lake, and simultaneously pack the lake house with all of Lauren's closest family and friends to surprise her after he popped the question. It does not get any sweeter than this! We had an absolute blast this weekend with these two, cannot say enough good things about the both of them, and cannot wait to celebrate their wedding day in Kansas City next year! Congrats you two!

Sydney and George got married this June at Downstream Casino. We are so excited to finally blog this wedding. These sweethearts have been waiting patiently as we edit their photos and they are finally done!
This day started out capturing all the pre wedding details in the bridal/groom suites at Downstream. Sydney & I then headed down to meet George where he was waiting on the lawn under a beautifully overcast sky waiting for his bride. George has an identical twin so we were in for a little scare when Nick (Geroge's twin) met us as we got off the elevator heading for first look! My heart skipped a beat.....200 or so weddings and not one blown first look and I thought that might have been the end of that streak :/ lol. Sydney approached George slowly and finally he got to see his bride for the first time in her dress. George's emotion as he spun and saw Sydney said it all! This man and woman are deeply in love and I am so thankful I was there to capture it all! This day, this couple, this wedding was perfect!
